Miss Virginia USA 2015

Laura Puleo

Laura Puleo lives in Lexington, VA, where she is in her last year of Law School at Washington and Lee University. She graduated from Duke University, Cum Laude, in 2012 with degrees in Latin and Ancient Greek. Laura twice camped outside Cameron Indoor Stadium for 2 months in the snow just for the Duke-UNC basketball game! Yes, you can say she is a huge basketball fan. While in Law school, she was elected by her class as a representative to the University's Executive Committee- the exclusively student-made body charged with upholding the University's Honor System and with allocating $500,000 to the school's student-led groups every year.

Laura is the 4th of 6 children. She and her family stay very close, even though everyone is spread out across the states. As Miss Virginia USA, she will try to be the modern woman. Though balancing new demands and old perceptions of what a woman "should be" can be challenging, she intends to strike the best balance she can through being a law student and a pageant competitor. Though they might seem contradictory, the skill sets of a law student and of a pageant girl help her every way!

She is excited to continue making appearances for the Special Olympics, Best Buddies, Ovarian Cancer National Alliance, and USO. Laura has chosen "Project 296" part of wounded veterans, as her personal charity. Laura has most recently participated in the Polar Plunge in Virginia Beach where her and Miss Virginia Teen USA, Ann Kutyna helped raise over $500,000 for the Special Olympics.

If you are interested in having Laura make an appearance as a speaker, host or just to be there mingling and signing autographs – any way that we might help with your organization – we would be honored. Click here to fill out our appearance request form.
